Millennium Embroidery Project - Spring Panel
Theme: Flora and Fauna
The panel features examples of flora and fauna found in the parish of Ravenstonedale. The central feature of the panel is a circular representation of the Howgills in spring. Below the Howgills are rectangular displays depicting Weasedale Beck, trees found in the parish and Smardale viaduct.
Buzzard, Curlew, Kestrel, Heron , Hare, Badger, Moth, Fell pony, Cowslip, Woodpecker, Meloncholy thistle, Harebells, Brown trout, Weasedale beck, Crayfish, Fox, Argos butterfly, Primrose, Trees of the parish (reproduced to scale) and blossoms (actual size), Lapwing, Roe deer, Red squirrels, Hearts tonge fern in grykes in limestone pavement, Smardale viaduct, Monkeyflower (Mimulus), Owls, Sheep.
